All persons registered under the GST Act must file their tax returns by the deadline. The deadline for filing GST returns depends on the category of your GST registration.
You may need to upload scans of invoices for the supply of goods or services, such as B2B supplies or IGST supplies above Rs 100 crore, to provide buyers with an input tax credit. 2.5 Invoices are not required to be uploaded on the GST portal for rack B2C supplies.
Once the return is submitted, it cannot be amended. However, any discrepancies in the provider’s value of goods or services can be rectified by issuing or receiving debit or credit notes. Such a difference can be adjusted with GSTR 1 or GSTR 2.
If a registrant fails to file the GST return within the prescribed period, he will have to pay a penalty of Rs. Failure to file the annual return within the stipulated period of Rs 100 per day also attracts a penalty of 0.25% of the quarterly turnover of the state.
